Part of the reason I started this blog was to help me feel inspired again after a difficult time. I think it is helping immensely and I am excited to share some things that have happened this week.
The best day of the week for me was Tuesday. My partner and I have been together for three years, but we only see one another a few times a week. On Tuesday, he got out of work early and came over. He wanted to go out the dinner, so we went to the Stoneforge Grill where I enjoyed crab cakes with Kim Crawford Sauvingnon Blanc.
A Massachusetts native, he mentioned that on the same street there was a famous chocolate store and that we could go if I wanted. I said that I could find a way to enjoy that.
When we arrived at Hilliard’s Chocolates in Easton, I was a grown woman in a candy store. I procured a pound of chocolate that was gone within 24 hours. My favorite was the Grand Marnier truffle.

A low for the week was on Friday. The day was open but I could not get any work done. Due to the recent health scares my dogs have experienced, I’ve been struggling with hypervigilance. They were fine all day and have been since. I just was on edge all day about three dogs who were being their normal selves.
Some ways I tried to combat this:
- Taking a short walk on my own.
- Reading H.P. Lovecraft stories–(hopefully more on this in a future post!).
The latter is probably not the best anxiety-reducing read, but that is what I did. The walk helped the most, but for the most part I just had to sit with the anxiety and remind myself that there was no emergency happening at that moment. I am trying to trust that if something is wrong, I will know.
Overall, there is a lot to be grateful for this week. My partner and I have been watching The Good Place when he comes over, which I’ve seen but he hasn’t. I made some delicious pasta, ate some delicious chocolate and enjoyed some delicious wine.
